Prof. Plamen Dimitrov, MD, PhD is Director of the National Center of Public Health and Analyses. He graduated in medicine in 1988. In 2001 he obtained a master's degree in epidemiology from the Michigan State University, and in 2011 he completed a master's degree in public health and health management at the Medical University, Sofia. In 2004 he defended his dissertation in the scientific specialty "Social Medicine and Organization of Health and Pharmacy". Since 2008 he has been appointed associate professor, and since 2013 he has been appointed full professor of "Social Medicine and Organization of Healthcare and Pharmacy". He has acquired two medical specialties - "Social Medicine and Health Management" and "Hygiene". His professional interests are in the field of health policy and health management, social medicine, health promotion and disease prevention, chronic non-communicable diseases, epidemiology and biostatistics, health technology assessment, social determinants of health. He is an experienced manager of the European Union and World Health Organization  projects and programs. He is also the author and co-author of more than 150 scientific publications. He is Chairman of the Expert Council on the Medical Specialty of Social Medicine and Health Management under the Minister of Health.

Assoc. Prof. Veska Kamburova, MD, PhD, graduated in medicine in 1984. In 1990, she defended her thesis on the scientific specialty "Hygiene". Since 2006, she has been an associate professor in the same specialty. She has a medical specialty "Communal Hygiene". She specialized at the International Center for Pesticide Safety, Italy and at Michigan State University, USA. Her professional interest is focused on health and hygiene aspects of living environment factors, water quality and safety, risk assessment for human health. She is the author and co-author of scientific publications in these areas. She has participated and experienced as a coordinator and head of national research and training initiatives, projects under PHARE, UNEP/Chemicals, NATO-ARW, the VI framework program of the European Union, as well as bilateral cooperation programs of EU member states.

Assoc. Prof. Teodor Panev, PhD graduated in engineering chemistry. In 1991 he defended his dissertation in scientific specialty "Hygiene". Since 2001 he has been an associate professor in scientific specialty "Hygiene", he has a medical specialty "Sanitary Chemistry". He was Deputy Director of NCPHA (2000–2004 and 2009–2011). He managed accredited Test Center "Higihrantest" at NCPHP (2002-2009) to perform analyses of water, food, soil, cosmetics and others. He was Deputy Director and Director of the Laboratory and Analytical Activity Directorate at the Executive Environment Agency (EEA) (2012–2018). He was head of the accredited laboratory of the EEA under BDS 17025. His professional and research interests are in the field of quality and testing of environmental parameters and their interpretation - air, water (surface and groundwater), radiation, soil and waste, as well as in the field of safety and health at work in the part of measurement and interpretation of chemical agents in the air of the working environment and work premises. He is the author and co-author of over 100 scientific publications - articles, monographs and textbooks in the country and abroad. He has been a contractor, coordinator and project manager under the 4th and 6th  framework programs of the EU, PHARE program and the Operational Program “Environment”, international programs for bilateral cooperation.
