The latest report by The Lancet Journal on the adverse effects of climate change on human health will be presented at a Countdown Workshop, organized jointly by NCPHA, the Bulgarian Office of the WHO and the Bulgarian Red Cross. The Lancet is one of the most famous, old and reputable general medical journals.
The working meeting in Sofia will be held on February 28, 2020.
The report "Ensuring that the health of a child born today is not defined by a changing climate" will be presented by Assoc. Prof. Maria Nilsson of Umeå University, Sweden. The report is produced annually by experts from leading global institutions and is presented at both UN climate issues meetings and thematic workshops in more than 40 countries around the world.
The focus of the event in Bulgaria will be on the opportunities for adaptation, planning and resilience of health systems to climate change. Bulgarian experts will also participate with their presentations.
